Fresh water accounts for 2.7% of the total water on Earth. India is one of the many countries facing water scarcity today. In Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat, women often walk long distances to fetch potable water. Meanwhile, in cities like Bangalore, a family spends Rs. 15 to Rs. 20 daily on water. There are also several cases of privatization of water bodies that often lead to water scarcity in the nearby areas.
Water conservation initiatives have proven results all over the world and we are striving to reduce excessive water consumption across our entire value chain. We are also actively working to make clean drinking water available across such drought prone areas.
As a major manufacturer of construction materials, our nature of operations include fabrications of heavy steel structures and scaffolding products. From material handling and fabrications to paint operations, we are actively reducing energy consumptions and greenhouse gas emissions. The process of minimizing energy consumption is not an overnight task but, consistently redefining the processes, activities and technologies up-gradation can save upto 10-15% of energy.
Every minute bit of energy matters, hence, we focus on making small, consistent efforts daily rather than aiming for big changes in a single day.
